Although, there are many similarities in all types of leadership, there are differences as well. The leaders should make use of their leadership skills whether they are leading an organization, a team or even a political party. For instance, we are familiar with team leaders within an organization but those who have never handled these responsibilities and suddenly promoted to a higher level will realize soon that there is a vast difference in the nature of the work that they will be handling. Therefore, leaders are supposed to learn the art of transforming themselves quickly from stage to the other.
This approach or leadership style is one that transforms the leaders into dictators at a later stage. In this category of leadership, the powers are focused and consolidated to be handled by one person. As far as types of leadership are concerned; this style is different as the leader takes independent decisions. The practice of autocratic leadership also provokes the leader to a large extent and we have enough precedence of the past bearing a testimony to the same. The benefit of this leadership lies in faster actions and quick decisions simply because the power is handled by one person.
This is somewhat similar to the first style as the leader has complete control and power over the assistants or the subordinates. The subordinates are only supposed to perform their duty on the basis of the orders that are provided by the leader and no questions are entertained. Among the various types of leadership in business, the dictator leadership implies a strict and stern approach that does not allow the assistants to put forward their opinion particularly in matters of decision making. In other words, the dictators have an intimidating style and use the same to get the work done.
This is one of the most lenient categories of leadership that encourages participation of people in the process of decision making. A democratic leader is not stern or adamant rather inspires the people to put forth their suggestions and the orders are executed only after consulting the subordinates. Therefore, in this category of leadership, the leader is able to get motivation from the followers or the masses and the ambience of work is preferred by the subordinates as they are treated with respect. This is what accounts for the popularity of democratic leadership among other types of leadership that exists.
